Katie Jones joined the CBS4 news team in January 2011 after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in communication studies from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. Katie is no stranger to the Midwest growing up just five hours down the Mississippi in Granite City, Illinois. She joins WHBF as a reporter and photojournalist.

While an undergrad, Katie worked for the PBS affiliated WEIU T V News Watch as a producer, anchor, reporter and production assistant. Katie worked the show that won WEIU T V News Watch its first Mid America student EMMY and worked as a producer and anchor on the show that won News Watch its second EMMY. She also anchored and produced the show that won News Watch the Illinois News Broadcaster's Association best student newscast award.

Katie interned at the ABC affiliate WICD 15 where she produced and wrote stories for their midday show. She also spent a summer as an assistant to the News Director for the WEIU T V summer internship. Katie enjoyed and learned from those experiences and looks forward to learning even more starting her career here at CBS4. She loves meeting new people and exploring all the Quad Cities has to offer.

When she is not at work you can find her enjoying anything dealing with the outdoors, country music and spending time with family and friends. Right now she's attempting to learn how to cook but hasn't had much luck!.
