Concetta Callahan Concetta Callahan

Concetta made her debut with the CBS 4 News team in June 2010 as a weekend anchor/producer and photojournalist.

Before making her way up north to the Quad Cities, Concetta covered news on the Texas/Mexico border, working as an anchor/producer for the NBC affiliate in Laredo, TX (KGNS-TV).  While she began as a co- anchor for the station's morning show, a weakening economy forced Concetta to take on many roles at the station, serving variously as an anchor, a producer, a sports reporter, and she even gave the weather.  She says her involvement in all those different positions helped give her an understanding and perspective of the challenges it takes to produce a newscast.

While in Texas, Concetta had the honor and pleasure of interviewing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, during her campaign for president in 2008.  She also covered the aftermath of Hurricane Ike and the evacuees who arrived in Laredo by the busloads.  Concetta would also cross the border and report on some of the most dangerous drug cartels in the Gulf and give viewers a firsthand look at Mexico's escalating violence.

Concetta earned a B.A. in International Business from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

When she's not covering the news, Concetta enjoys traveling to different countries and experiencing their cultures, taking family vacations to Mexico to visit the Vega family, spending quality time with her family and friends in Houston, Texas, shopping with her mom, and running with her dogs.
