Increasing Clouds Tonight Ahead of Snow Tomorrow...
Cold weather has been the big story the last few days across the area with low temperatures near zero in some places this morning, and highs only recovering into the teens. Aside from a few high clouds Saturday afternoon, it's been mostly sunny. Tonight we'll see those clouds increase and thicken, which will prevent temperatures from dropping too far.
This is all ahead of our next storm system that will bring us snow on Sunday, especially during the afternoon hours. Accumulations will be on the light side, anywhere from 1"-3". Here in the Quad Cities it's looking like a solid inch to inch and a half is likely, with the higher amounts (2"-3") northwest of the Quad Cities. Areas southeast of the QC will see a trace up to an inch. Temperatures will remain cold, but we will see a little recovery late next week.
