Nicole Kilmer joined the CBS4 news team in June, 2013. She co-anchors CBS4 News at 5 and 6 and during Ten at 10 on CBS4 each weeknight. Nicole grew up in Byron, Illinois, a small town southwest of Rockford. She's always had a passion for journalism and news. When she was a little girl, she used to create her own "newspaper" to deliver to her neighbors and family. Nicole caught the acting bug at an early age. She was in a few movies and commercials and was even a print ad model. But it was her love of television journalism that prevailed.
Nicole graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. She called the Hawkeye state home for eight years and worked at CBS affiliate KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa as the morning and noon anchor.
Nicole has worked at the NBC television station, WREX in Rockford, Illinois and spent six years as the main anchor at Rockford's ABC affiliate WTVO and FOX 39. During her time at WTVO, she was the spokesperson for Stateline Green, an initiative promoting recycling and environmentally-friendly practices. Nicole and WTVO won the Illinois Recycling Association's "Excellence in Recycling Award for Outstanding Recycling Education Program." She is also actively involved with the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life.
Nicole is newly married and has a 13-year-old Beagle named Bailey. She looks forward to exploring the Quad Cities, taking part in festivals and fairs and trying out all the great restaurants the area has to offer. If you see her out in the community, make sure to stop and say, "Hi!"
