An emotional day for many parents at the up with families weekend retreat.
So we're having some fun and lots of laugh, lots tears as well. Just happy years knowing we're not alone," said Jennie Peakin, who's family is attending the retreat.
The retreat is for families who have a young child with a disability.
Throughout the weekend parents learn about resources in the area, listen to speakers, take part in group discussions and get to know each other In the mean time volunteers entertain the kids with fun activities.
"You just want to give up sometimes you just want to you know throw in the towel and it's just too much sometimes. And it's really nice to know you have someone you can go to, or a group you can go to who understand really what we're going through," said Peakin.
The non-profit 'Up With Families' funds the event through grants and donations so it's free for the families.
