The "Winter Weather Advisory" now begins at 6 o'clock Monday morning, and lasts until 4 o'clock Monday afternoon.
Original Post: 8:50AM Sunday
More wintry weather is headed to the CBS4 viewing area before a nice warm up next week.
A "Winter Weather Advisory" goes into effect for the entire CBS4 viewing area from 3AM to 3PM Monday. Knox and Stark counties' advisory will go from 6AM to 6PM Monday.
Our next storm will be coming out of the northern plains, with the center of the storm moving just south of the viewing area putting us on the northern side. Temperatures just above the surface will be above freezing, so the precip will start out as a rain, freezing rain and sleet mix for areas south of Interstate 80. Ice accumulations will be a tenth of an inch or less. Your Monday morning commute may be affected.
With cooler temperatures, northern hometowns will see more of a sleet and snow mix. Eventually we all will switch over to snow. Accumulations south of Interstate 80 where more mixing occurs will pick up 1-3" of new snow. From I-80 northward, 3-5" of snow can be expected, with a few areas picking up 6".
Any shift in this track north or south can make the difference between more or less snow and ice. Keep up with the forecast throughout the day on cbs4qc.com and CBS4 News! You can also download our free mobile app.
