Plans are moving forward in Moline to demolish the old John Deere Collector's Center.
Tuesday night the Moline City Council and John Deere agreed to move forward with the plans.
The Collector's Center closed in 2008 and since then, John Deere has been trying to sell it.
The building will be demolished and the land sold to the city of Moline for future development.
"It makes more sense to demolish the building, put the parking lot over by the tracks and anything else, whether it's hotel or retail, on Riverside Drive so its further away from the train tracks," says Moline Mayor Scott Raes.
