An Iowa lawmaker is mourning the loss of 2 sisters, shot to death in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Susan and Sarah Wolfe originally of Clinton were shot and killed. Authorities found their bodies in the basement of their home Friday afternoon. The women are the sisters of State Representative Mary Wolfe, who still lives in Clinton serving house district 98.
Police still searching for the shooter they say they do not have motive for the killings, adding there was no sign of forced entry.
According to the county medical examiner, 38 year old Sarah Wolfe and her 44–year old sister Susan both died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Susan Wolfe worked at Hillel Academy, when she didn 't show up for work on Friday, a co–worker became concerned and called police.
"It wasn't like her, she never missed work, she never was late, we called her, we texted her, we emailed her, she didn't respond. Our CEO Dan Kraut asked to call police and we did." explained Principal Sam Weinberg.
Detectives continue to following leads and talk to people who knew the sisters. Saturday police found Sarah Wolfe's lime green Ford Fiesta about a mile away.
The Iowa native was a pediatrician and psychiatrist. she had been with UPMC's Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic since 2007.
Susan Wolfe moved from Clinton, to live with her sister who recently bought a house. She was a pre–school teacher's aide, working with three year olds.
"She was really great, I mean all the kids loved her. they're going to miss her, she was a really great teacher, very devoted, she cared a lot about her job." added Weinberg.
Police aren't saying much about the investigation. In the meantime family, friends and co–workers are searching for answers and hoping for an arrest.
