East Moline Police say they've arrested four people in connection with a credit card scam.
On Christmas Eve employees at the Walgreens in East Moline called police to report a group of people in the store trying to use phony credit cards to buy Visa gift cards. Officers were able to stop the group's car as they attempted to drive away.
Inside the car police found more than 65 phony cards. Investigation revealed that numerous stolen credit card numbers had been encoded on the phony cards, which were then used to buy valid cards that were sold on the streets of Chicago.
Arrested were Jerame Moore and Felicia Jackson of Chicago, Mercedes Brown of Calumet City, and Shaun Smith of Atlanta, Georgia.
