Just a few days before Christmas and people are still
traveling to see loved ones.
At the Quad City International Airport, there were many
delays and cancellations because of the snowfall. But many travelers tell me
that they are anxious. They just want to make it home in time for Christmas
"I'm going to see my mother for Christmas and I only get to
see her a couple times of year, but I was worried about not getting to see her
because of the snow," said traveler Ronald Ennis.
Delays were caused not just because of the snow in the Quad Cities, but also chilly temperatures in Chicago and Denver where many of the flights
are coming from.
It started yesterday, Bigot in around noon, and found out
that my flight had been canceled. And Was rebooked on an earlier flight that
they said I could get on today, and then I found out that too had been
canceled," said traveler Carrie London.
"We left Seattle at ten in the morning on Friday, and we are
just getting here now, so I was at the Minneapolis airport for twenty hours. I'd
say it was definitely a long trip," said traveler Emma Brindel.
But for many the
delays are worth it —when the reunion finally happens.
"Usually it's a struggle to get her home because there is
always bad weather when she comes home so it's nice to have her home safe," said traveler Andrea Elliot.
Many just chalk it up to Midwest living.
"You learn to live with it. Weather is part of living in the
Midwest, and winters are going to be rough, and I'm used to it by now," said London.
If you're still traveling for the holiday, make sure to give
yourself plenty of time because of the delays. Many passengers tells say it's best to speak to a representative in person, as the phone lines can be very busy.
