It's a blast from the past with a new school twist.
Wednesday night, students and community members tuned into Saint Ambrose's radio station KALA for a spooky broadcast.
Airing the famous or infamous play "War of the Worlds", but bringing it into our day and age and adding a local touch.
Voiced by students, SAU's alien invasion starts in Durant, Iowa and makes its way to Chicago.
"During the editing process we made sure to include a lot of locations that when students or whomever were listening said, oh ya, I recognize that places, ive been there before, so we just really wanted to make this something that had that I guess a national appeal but still had a local appeal as well they could recognize with," said senior Tyler Mitchell.
War of the Worlds was originally aired 75 years ago today, as a day before Halloween prank.
It gained its infamy after listeners mistook the fiction for fact.
