The Iowa Governor's Award for Quality Care in Healthcare Facilities
is only given out once a year.
And Vera French in Davenport is one of just two places in
the state to receive it.
Vera French was one of 28 healthcare facilities nominated
throughout the state.
They were nominated by community members, residents of the
facility, and family members.
"They really focus on the residents and providing the
best service to them possible and that has really come across. We've heard from so many people in the
nomination process that this is a wonderful family environment," said Governor
Vera French is the first residential mental health facility
to get the governor's award.
