A longtime Augustana Viking is honored Friday night in a special way.
The Viking's new press box at their new stadium complex was dedicated to Dave Wrath. Wrath has led the sports information office at the Rock Island college for the past 32 years, and helped it become one of the nation's leading producers of all American athletes. He said it's humbling that the place he's worked for so long, is recognizing him like this.
"I'm not sure it's really sunk in yet, I really don't know that it has, but I do know that when somebody thinks enough of your work to do something like this, because these decisions aren't made lightly, it's really a neat honor, a very neat honor and I'm feeling very privileged," said Wrath.
Augustana's old main, the campus' signature building, was also dedicated, or rededicated rather, Friday night. It was held to celebrate the 124 year old building's new renovation.
