Big vote Wednesday night during the Davenport City Council meeting.
City leaders unanimously voted to grant a preliminary approval to Raufeisen Development to revamp the old Dock restaurant.
This, despite a recommendation by the Levee Improvement Commission to table it earlier in the day.
Todd Raufeisen said with his plan of building a 4-story mix of restaurants, offices and event spaces, Quad Citians won't be disappointed, "People say this over and over again they want to go down to the river and experience and there's no place to do that. You're not only going to be dining on the river, you're going to be dining over the river. You're going to have views of the river and the lock and dam that does not exist today."
The agreement with Raufeisen is contingent on the River Vision Study, which incorporates the plans of different architects and firms on what should be on Davenport's river front.
