Department of Defense Comptroller Robert Hale said 90% of the military's furloughed civilian employees should be back to work soon after President Obama signed the pay our military act into law Saturday.
Sunday, Iowa Congressman Dave Loebsack was in West Branch, speaking to owners of a coffee shop affected by the government shutdown.
There is still some question about what the guidance that was sent out by the secretary of defense means to the people at the Rock Island Arsenal the civilians,
"I know a number of them are elated but we just don't know how many of them will be going back to work for sure. and hopefully that guidance as they call it will be clarified very soon hopefully by tomorrow morning," said Representative Loebsack.
Loebsack plans to speak with affected Arsenal workers Monday morning.
