We always talk about the importance of giving time, money or food to those in need, but there are other essential items that are often overlooked. This year's underwear collection starts Saturday here in the Quad Cities and ends November 3rd. The campaign collects packages of new underwear, shirts, bras and socks for women, children and men.
"Last year we had two directors of the shelters say we have clients who don't have any underwear, and I guess that kinda brought it home. I never even thought about that for me that was just eye opening," said Grant Curtis, Chairperson, Underwear Because We Care.
There are 17 drop sites across the Quad Cities Area.
Ritzi Reruns, Bettendorf Financial Consultants, Stuff Etc., Studio K, The Hair Society, CASI, Trinity Episcopal Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Albans Church, Blue Grass Presbyterian Church, and all churches in the Catholic Diocese of Davenport.
