A Davenport father arrested after his little boy was found home alone when the house caught fire: is now facing even more charges.
Along with child endangerment charges Edgar Mendoza, whose real name is Edgar Ponce, is accused of lying to police. They said the 21-year-old gave them a false last name to cover up multiple outstanding warrants. The fire broke out at Ponce's home on West 7th Street back in August. The Davenport Fire Department rescued his 2-year-old son, who he'd left alone to take the boy's mother to work. The fire was caused by a burner left on and hot grease in a skillet.
