Monday night, the East Moline School board voted to end services for students at the Rock River Alternative School.
Right now, only a handful of students from 14 surrounding districts attend Rock River Alternative school in Geneseo.
Attendance is low, and it costs $65 dollars a day for each student.
That averages to around $10,000 dollars a year.
Another Silvis School District is expected to also vote on dissolving Rock River Alternative School this Wednesday.
"If we can do things financially better four our district, I think we owe that to our taxpayers, as long as we're still servicing our students," said Ray Bergles, Silvis School District Superintendent.
East Moline said the change will take effect next school year.
The districts are looking into their options, either providing their own services in house, or sharing services with other districts, for a different program.
