A section of I-80 near Bureau County, Illinois, is back open this morning after two semi's collided in the Eastbound lanes near mile marker 38.
The first semi was parked on the shoulder of I-80 when it was struck from behind by the second one.
Semi one was carrying 3800 gallons of flammable liquid. Semi two was carrying about 42,000 pounds of tomatoes.
The driver of semi one was taken to the Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo, no word on injuries.
Charges are pending a further investigation.
Two semi trucks collided on I-80 Monday night. It happened just after 5:30 PM around Mile Marker 38 in Bureau County. One truck was carrying 42 thousand pounds of tomatoes, the other had hazardous materials in it.
Hazmat crews are cleaning up the mess, the interstate should be open within the next two hours.
