The city of Rock Island hosted a community vision workshop
Monday night, where residents could put in their two cents about what needs
"Concerns with teenage pregnancy, another subject was
nepotism in hiring practices," cited one resident, Terry Stimpson.
There were also opportunities to talk about what the city's
Organizers said the goal of the workshop is to let residents
express their ideas on what issues need to be addressed in the city's
"It's important to have a bottom up idea of what the
community wants and what the community would like to see happen in the city
over the 20 year span the plan would cover," said Ben Griffith with Rock Island
planning and development.
There's one more community vision workshop coming up.
It's next Tuesday from 6–8 PM at St. Pius X in Rock Island.
