Goose Creek Heights will soon welcome a new family enrichment center
Construction is underway for a new family enrichment center in Davenport.
The center is in the Goose Creek Heights neighborhood and will allow 20 preschool age children to take part in activities there. There will also be parent programs so parents can be involved with their children's progress. Most of the families in the neighborhood don't have the resources or transportation to go to these types of services.
"It's a facility for the kids to give them a head start... a jump on school so that they have the same potential schooling as a lot of the other kids," says Scott Pearson, a contractor.
Construction is set to be wrapped up by the end of spring.
