Moline Police are looking for a man they believe tried to grab a girl as she walked to John Deere Middle School this morning. The suspect is a white male in his 20's. He is tall and thin, with black hair. The man was wearing jeans, a black and gray shirt and a white bandana.
Police say the suspect tried to grab the girl between 7:30 and 8:00 this morning in the area of the 1400 block of 19th Avenue.
Around the same time, another student was walking to Wilson Middle School when she was approached by a man dressed as a woman. She described him as wearing a blonde wig and women's clothing. The student was alarmed by statements he made, and told officials at Wilson Middle School, who called police. Officers responded and arrested 23 year old Derek Argo for Disorderly Conduct.
The Moline School District is notifying parents of both incidents.
Police say the two incidents are not related.
