Kids in the Quad Cities are doing their part to save starving children.
Today, 15 teams of children packed more than 22 thousand meals. The food will go to children in Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti, and the quad cities. Kids 5 and up helped with making the meals.
"It gives kids a great introduction as to what starvation is around the world. We talk about how there children are dying every six seconds from starvation around the world, so they learn about that," says Pam Gettert, President, Kids Against Hunger.
The food consisted of soy, veggies, vitamins, and rice.
