An inmate walked away from the Burlington Work Release Facility on Wednesday.
Eric Shaffer, 31, had been serving time for Going Armed with Intent, and Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury. The Burlington facility is a minimum security program that lets offenders gradually adjust back to society as they finish the tail end of their sentences.
Shaffer was transferred to the work release facility in late July. He is described as being 5'10", 185 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos.
