Ribs for Kids, presented by Knilan's Furniture is Friday in Davenport.
Tickets are $35 for a full dinner featuring Kelly's famous ribs and also gets you
entered to win a weeklong family trip to Florida. Wicked Liz & the
Bellyswirls will provide live music and there will be plenty of door prizes,
raffle items, and a complimentary ShutterBooth arcade picture booth.
Ribs for kids takes place Friday, August 16, 2013, from 5-8:30pm, at Kelly's Irish Pub & Eatery in Davenport.
For more than 25 years, the Iowa Quad
Cities Rotary Club has been committed to helping children in our area.
Money from the event goes to help local organizations.
In June of this year, representatives from the following
organizations received grants from funds generated at last years event:
-Scott County Family YMCA's Military Kids Camp -
-YMCA Fairmont Pines Project - $2500
-Rick's House of Hope - $2000
-Medic EMS – $2200
-Hand In Hand Daycare - $1000
-Kittan Council of Boy Scouts - $500
Other area organizations that have received funding from the
Iowa Quad City Rotary Club include Scott Community College (in the form of two
$1000 annual scholarships), New Kingdom Trailriders, Flu Free Quad Cities,
Project Renewal, and the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy.
The club also chartered and continues to fund Challenger Little League for
disabled youth, provides food baskets for area families at Thanksgiving and
Christmas, and this year spearheaded the Lids for Kids program that donated
brand new bicycle helmets to 2nd graders at six Bettendorf grade
