For the third time in five years some of the best softball players
in the world are in the Quad Cities this week,
"We are welcoming the world to the Quad cities, there is 9
countries represented here throughout the 48 teams so they all have a really
great time in the quad cities. Our attractions, our restaurants, our golf
courses all offering discounts. So we are really rolling out the red carpet,"
said Lynn Hunt of the QC Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
The ISC Men's World fastball tournament is underway at Moline's
Green Valley Sports Complex.
Thousands of players and fans are in town. Organizers expect
that to leave a $4 million impact to the local economy
"The hotel and catering and restaurants and other retailers
and convenient stores that are going to see the revenue and business from this
tournament will add up to quite a substantial amount," said Hunt.
Moline hopes to land the tournament again in 2015.
