Mud and madness this morning in long grove Iowa.
"It's a really safe place for women who have never really done something like this before to explore their limits of their physical and mental toughness," says Sarah Johnson, Race Director.
The all-women's 5k Mudventure race is the only one of its kind in the Midwest. It's a fundraiser for the Junior League of the Quad Cities. The money is going to Braking Traffik, an organization dedicated to stopping human trafficking in the quad cities. A huge problem that these, women racing are dedicated to fight.
"Because I have an 8 year old daughter and the idea of someone taking her and selling her for sex is not an option to me," says Cody Kane, Ran in the Race.
CBS 4 was a proud sponsor of Mudventure. Our own Steve Long emceed the event
