For those fans out at the course Sunday, it was quite a memorable tournament, keeping them on the edge of their seats.
"I couldn't have asked for a better day," says Charles Jones.
"Real fun just to be a part of," says Noah Benbow.
"It was phenomenal, wasn't it," says Ruby Ferris.
From the veteran spectators with their umbrellas and plenty of food to those experiencing the classic for the very first time, there's quite a range of fans enjoying the action.
"This is our first time so we're just taking it all in," says Leslie Willett. "We had no idea what to expect."
"The hype is up," Ferris adds. "We save it for that day."
Fans we spoke with say when the Sunday of the tournament comes around, it's a whole new atmosphere.
"Just a little more electric," explains Rob Bush. "A little more exciting and I think folks are a little more focused on each and every shot and just really tuned into everything that's going on the course."
And when it came to the playoff holes, fans we spoke with say it was an added bonus.
"You get five extra holes - it's great," Jones adds.
No matter your age, some fans say they're hooked after seeing pros show what they got.
"Awesome experience for the kids to see and get them involved in golf," Benbow adds.
And organizers say this year's tournament created the perfect storm for fans.
"We had many of the fan favorites all over the leader board all week," says Clair Peterson, JDC Tournament Director. "And not insignificantly, the weather turned into one of the most perfect weeks in July."
Peterson says this year could be one of their best when it comes to attendance, seeing numbers up every day from last year.
