Clinton man attacked by pit bulls leaving hospital
CLINTON, Iowa (AP) A Clinton man who was attacked by pit bulls is being released from the hospital Friday.
But even as 31-year-old Benjamin Nave prepares to leave the hospital, one of the dogs that attacked him Tuesday evening remains at large.
One dog was shot and killed by police Tuesday night following the attack, but the other dog, which also was shot by police, ran off and has not been found.
Clinton police say they have identified the dogs' owners, but no citations have yet been issued. Clinton Police Captain Tom Bohle says the attack remains under investigation. Bohle advised anyone who sees the wounded pit bull to contact the Clinton Police Department and to avoid engaging the dog in any way.
