It's a day dedicated to keeping safe in the sun. It's 'Don't Fry Day'.
The nation is reminding everyone to protect their skin this summer.
Iowa was ranked in the top ten states for skin cancer and today experts are urging folks to be proactive in the sun.
If you are going to spend a lot of time outside, make sure you wear sun screen with an SPF of at least 15. Wear a hat, long sleeves and long pants. Make sure your face and lips have sunscreen especially.
"People are not going to be outside and they are going to be more exposed to the sun, so we do want to make sure we are paying attention and applying the sunscreen," says Stef Dreher.
Experts say make sure you stay away from tanning beds as well.
