Today's commencement speaker, Sister Barbara Moore, a civil rights activist. She took part in the famed equality march in Selma Alabama back in the 1960's
"I was very much moved by how organized everything was, how serious the situation was and how committed everyone was to non–violence"
Sister Moore went to Selma, to march for equal voting rights and learned strategies for non–violence.
In her commencement speech she talked about her roots, what it was like living during segregation, and the challenges we still face today.
The most important thing she wants the students to take away is to make good choices, be wise, and be kind.
