It's a trip Davenport Central High School's Choir looks forward to every three years, but heading to this year's trip to New York almost didn't happen.
Thursday night, the choir directors sent out an email to parents and students saying their trip this Tuesday hadn't been booked by the travel agency, and their money had disappeared.
Lynn Vance said she was upset to find out that the $900 dollars she spent to send her daughter Hanna to New York was gone.
She's been making payments this school year to Integrity Travel, a travel agency the vocal choir has used for 16 years to organize their trips to 'The Big Apple.'
"That's quite a bit of money that is somewhere out there. Someone's got it, but it's not going to go to the kids, and that's the disappointing part," said Vance.
Last minute, the DC Vocal Booster Club said, the agency notified the choir directors they were unable to finance the trip, after already receiving more than $125,000 dollars from parents and students.
"They worked very hard fundraising to go on this trip, and we'd like to recoup what we can, but we will see," said Sue Honsey, VP for the DC Vocal Boosters, Inc.
Seniors, Hanna and Rebecca said it was nerve wrecking to think they wouldn't be able to see the bright lights, and Broadway shows they've been waiting for since freshman year.
"It was kind of a mutual agreement that if we weren't going to go, we we're going to spend all of choir today crying, there were a lot of emotions today in choir," said Rebecca Jones.
The DC Vocal Boosters said thankfully they had enough money in their rainy day fund to help cover some of the costs, but it wouldn't have been possible without the quick, outpouring of support from parents as well.
"It just means a lot that they would do all that for us, and all the parents that have chipped in to help us go," said Hanna Vance- Crun, Choir Senior.
CBS 4 tried contacting Integrity Travel, but their web site has been shut down and they haven't returned calls.
We're also told Davenport school leaders haven't been able to get in touch with them either.
