It's not too early to start thinking about this year's Quad City Marathon. Thursday night, the Quad City Marathon committee held their 16th annual press conference to announce some changes to this year's event. One new addition, is the Pump'N Run, where participants can pump some iron the day before the race, to knock off seconds on their race time. Another important factor in this year's race is safety. Race organizers said they are using what happened in Boston as an example, and tightening up security.
"We're going to step up our security. We've been so focused on securing the participants, we need to look back, and look at the bigger picture, securing the spectators, the people that are in the vicinity," said Joe Moreno, founder and race director.
The race events are the weekend of September 21st and 22nd. You can find the schedule for racing events by clicking here.
