Members of the LGBT community are raising money and looking for a new home to worship.
The Metropolitan Community Church of the Quad Cities held their annual chili cook-off Sunday.
The church moved its parish out of Davenport back in December and has been looking for a new home ever since, holding its meetings at the Tri-City Jewish center in Rock Island.
Organizers say it would mean a lot to raise enough money for a new place to call their own.
"To me, it really isn't about where it's at," explains Mary Todtz, organizer. "It's the people in it and this is a wonderful group of people. They have welcomed me -I have been a member now for almost two years and it's a very warm loving group of people."
Our own morning meteorologist Anthony Peoples served as one of the judges for the chili cook-off.
