The Moline School District may close down two elementary schools, and they want to hear from you.
You can find out more and voice your concerns at the community information session tonight.
The superintendent says they do use that feedback during the planning and decision–making process.
The administration would like to close Ericsson and Garfield elementary schools, and renovate and expand Hamilton elementary school.
This is the second of three meetings on the topic held at each of the three affected schools.
The superintendent says the administration would like to address any concerns like bussing or teachers.
These changes are a part of a proposed three year plan that the administration presented to the school board at their meeting last week. The move would help save the district $2.3 million, but Superintendent David Moyer says it would also provide better services for students.
"It fits with our, with what we think is in the overall long term best interest of the community, it fits with our efforts to improve student achievement," said Dr. Moyer.
The meeting will be tonight at 6:00 at Hamilton Elementary. The board should make a decision on the plan at their meeting on May 13th.
