Business leaders gathered to learn more about this year's field of candidates in Rock Island County, in a different sort of way.
Renaissance Rock Island hosted a "Corned Beef and Candidates" forum today at the Quad City Botanical Center.
All candidates for mayor, city council, and school board were asked important questions about the city.
"This is an opportunity where the community leaders as well as each of our boards can come together at one time and giving an opportunity for each of the candidates to respond to their questions," Brian Hollenbeck of Renaissance Rock Island said.
The new Wal-Mart, the courthouse and even our kids' education were all brought up for debate.
Those who attended say it provided vital information.
"As a matter of fact I took notes," Phillip Dennis said. "I thought the questions were right on topic, they got to the real basic issues."
The candidates made a point to ask all Rock Island residents to get out and vote on April 9th.
