Local Counties Among Healthiest in Illinois

A professional 'check up' shows some area counties are among the healthiest in Illinois. That's according to a new study released today from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Jo Daviess County ranks as the 2nd healthiest county in Illinois, behind only Douglass County in eastern Illinois.

Mercer County and Henry County are also ranked in the top five.

The list ranks counties based on a wide variety of health factors including how many doctors are available per person and overall healthcare in the county.

Rock Island County finished in the middle of the pack at 54th.
