Child hit by car in Davenport

In Davenport, a young boy driving a small motor bike was hit by a car Sunday afternoon near Harrison and 29th Street.

Police on the scene say the boy was around six or seven years old. He was driving the bike down an alley then turned out onto Harrison Street and was struck by a car. The boy was transported to Mercy Hospital then airlifted to Iowa City.

His condition is not known as of Sunday night.

Police say the child was wearing a helmet.
