Could changes be coming to Rock Island County's aging administrative building and courthouse?

County leaders are trying to educate the public about an upcoming ballot question. The question could grant more power to the County Building Commission, who in turn, would become the decision makers behind restoring or building new county offices.

Committee members say because of the Iowa Supreme Court, they need this vote to pass for any action to be done on the aging buildings.

"We want people to realize this is our opportunity to take care of an important cornerstone in our community," says Kim Callaway-Thompson, Co-Chair, Ad Hoc Committee.

That referendum vote will take place April 9th.
