Everyone has the right to live their life free of prejudice and persecution.  That's the message behind QC Pride.

The annual "Prides of March Masquerade Ball" was held Friday night in downtown Davenport. The night included dancing, drinks, door prizes and of course, masks.  Organizers said it's not just about having fun, but inspiring young people to embrace themselves.

"My passion is for the young people, the young people coming up, to let them know that who they are is who they're meant to be.  And we create that where we show ourselves to the community that we're just like everyone else," Jeff Simpson, President, QC Pride.

The proceeds of the masquerade ball make if possible for QC Pride to host Pride Fest in the summer.
