The Bettendorf School District will unveil a major makeover at the high school today.

After a year and a half several multi–million dollar renovation projects are now finished.

Students and faculty we talked to say these upgrades make a huge difference.

"I think it really widens the variety of things in our school. I think it will give students a big opportunity to kind of have more space to go, and especially with the performing arts center it's going to open up a lot of opportunities for our theater and music students," said Bettendorf High School senior Megan Sanchez.

The new performing arts center holds more than twice the students as the old one.

Students tell us it's getting them excited about the arts, and they are ready for the first performances which are taking place all day.

"We have some great technology and a great facility to show off and the students are just so pumped to be able to get in here and get on that stage and perform," said Performing Arts Center Manager Chris Howard.

The library was gutted and also redone. It now includes new shelves and more seating.

The high school main office, guidance office and District Administration Center got an upgrade as well.

All of the improvements cost $16.2 million, and today will be the grand opening.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30PM, and if you want to take a look around there will be tours from 5:00PM to 6:30PM.
