Local healthcare professionals gathered on Thursday to talk about ways for combating child abuse.
The Child Abuse Council put on a conference at the Isle of Capri in Bettendorf.
They talked about prevention and how to help a child if the abuse has already occurred.
They said this will help avoid future abuse and promote healthy and happy families.
When children are exposed to violence at a very young age it has a lifelong impact and we're here to figure out how we can prevent it from happening.
