Ready or not, the 39th Annual Bix 7 will be here before you know it. This year, organizers are rolling out a new event for the popular 7 mile race; the Premier Buick and GMC High School challenge. It's where the first boy and girl to cross the line will win $1000 for their school's athletic program. The organization will continue to offer the same prize for men and women. But one avid runner we talked to says the Bix 7 is more about bringing the community together.
"It's the greatest race in America, it's the biggest crowd in the quad cities. It's a fun event and it just brings everybody together and it's one of the first races I did as a teen getting into the sport," said Scott Hoag, longtime Bix runner.
