Yet another local school is laying off staff.
9 teachers and teachers' aids are losing their jobs in the Silvis School District.
The school's superintendent said they were forced to make the tough decisions because of a more than half a million dollar budget deficit.
And even with the cuts the district is still more than $350,000 dollars in the hole.
The superintendent said they will now look at cutting supplies, such as text books.
There is a possibility a few of the teachers could get hired back, but that's only if the state pulls through with funding or if enrollment increases.
