The Mississippi River's Locks and Dams system could soon get a major make over.
Illinois two U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk along with Congresswoman Cheri Bustos have introduced a bipartisan bill to improve America's water infrastructure.
The work would be carried out through partnerships with the Army Corps of Engineers and private entities to save taxpayers money.
The Corps of Engineers says without this deal, there's a $60 billion backlog of projects that would take decades to finish.
