The Variety Telethon wrapped up Sunday night here on CBS4.
After a weekend of generous donations from across Iowa, the totals are in. The 2013 Variety Telethon raised a record $3,603,013 for Iowa kids.
Variety's first telethon in 1975 raised $150,000 and went to one grant recipient, Blank Children's Hospital.
Now 35 years later, Variety has raised over $90 million that has been granted to agencies serving children across the State of Iowa.
Thanks to the cast members, volunteers and donors who support Variety during Telethon and throughout the year, Variety is able to raise the much needed funds for the Boys & Girls Club, the YWCA and Lydia Home here in the Quad Cities.
