Grabbing a beer could mean helping out senior citizens.

Saturday at Great River Brewery, organizers tapped their newest drink that will help benefit CASI.

"I like it," says Pat Grady. "It's not too dark, not too light, kind of a sweet hint to it. I think it's a great idea, I'm just a few years away from being a senior myself."

Half the proceeds from sales of Owney Irish Red Ale will go toward helping fund programs at the senior non-profit center. Organizers say it's a different way to raise money.

"Raffle items, silent auctions, golf outing - everything like that, we all do it," says Sarah Arp, marketing coordinator for CASI. "As a non profit, you try to think out of the box as much as you can and I think this one has blown away as the best idea ever yet."

The Irish Red Ale will be available in most grocery stores and bars until it runs out.
