Local hotel gets big recognition

A big honor for a local hotel.

The Hotel Blackhawk in downtown Davenport has been named an Autograph Collection Hotel.

The Marriott launched this collection in 2010 to recognize independent hotels that are unique and rich in character.

The new recognition will now allow Hotel Blackhawk to accept Marriott rewards. General Manager, Tim Heim, says it's a great feeling.

"This is just an amazing hotel to walk into. The staff does a great job and I think it shows with all the accolades they've won. "

The hotel manager says he thinks things like the spa, business center, and bowling alley are some of the features that got them the honor
