An explosion at a Camanche factory sent one man to the hospital Tuesday morning.
Fire crews were called shortly before 9:30 for a report of an explosion with injuries at Economy Coatings at 416 21st Street.
When they got there they found the fire had been put out by employees with extinguishers but the building was full of smoke. There was minimal damage to the building itself.
The fire was started by an employee using a grinder too close to flammable liquids. He was burned on the head and one hand in the explosion. His injuries were not life threatening.
