As you head out to work Tuesday morning, the Iowa DOT has 4 words to keep in mind: Don't crowd the plow.
They say during a winter storm, as many as 900 snowplows may be on the roads applying salt, brine and sand.
A few tips for sharing the roads with a snow plow: stay alert for sudden maneuvers, plows often have to swerve to miss stranded cars, never pass a plow team, watch out for slow moving vehicles, and stay at least 3 car lengths back and within the line of sight.
